Hollywood

If I could, I would now like to lead a group thank you directed towards Hollywood. If I could get as much support as possible then it would be greatly appreciated, as this is an issue that I am very passionate about.

The reason that I have taken up this cause is because our future is uncertain. The current rate of scientific advancement frequently unveils new wonders, further inspiring humanity to search harder for increased knowledge. But what about when the time comes that our desire for advancement outstrips our ethics and we unleash something horrendous? What happens when we venture into unknown depths of space and discover something best left undiscovered?

Hollywood is taking steps to protect us. Thanks to Hollywood, a generation has been founded that knows to never flee from a Tyrannosaurus Rex. We have know how to recognize the telltale signs of Zombification. When faced by an evil mutant with powers over metal, we know to develop plastic guns. These are the lessons that Hollywood has taught us.

But Hollywood has not stopped there. Hollywood is constantly envisioning new scenarios, some of which humanity will invariably have to face. Their work is being constantly added to a great pool of knowledge that our decendents may draw upon when faced by new dangers.

But Hollywood has not only taught us to fight. Countless stories have arisen featuring intense philosophical issues, ranging from the rights of the clone and the mutant to the potential advantages and disadvantages of genetic modification. Issues that humanity must resolve on its own, collectively. So even as we learn of the dangers of viscous alien plasma weaponry and the weaknesses of our prehistoric ancestors, we acknowledge the dangers of complacency and pride.

So this is why I want to make my declaration of appreciation to Hollywood, and their continuing efforts to ensure the future of the human race.
